A pitch used to get a first meeting and the board pack you present at your fourth AGM are different documents, but investors read them the same way — for a clear story, numbers that hold together, and a business that looks like it can survive questions. A deck that hides a weak point behind decoration doesn't fix the weak point; it just makes the reader wonder what else is being smoothed over.

That's the brief for every investor-facing deck we build, whatever stage it's for. A first pitch has to earn attention fast. A board or AGM pack has to withstand governance-level scrutiny. A quarterly update has to explain what's changed since the last one without investors having to dig for it. The narrative shifts with the occasion; the standard investors apply to it doesn't.

We start with the argument, not the template — what an investor needs to understand, and in what order, before the numbers on the next slide will land. Charts and tables are then designed to make that case in seconds: a trend, a comparison or a unit economics story laid out so the reader draws the right conclusion at a glance instead of parsing a spreadsheet on screen. For decks going into a live meeting, we typically build a lean version for the room and a fuller appendix for the copy that gets forwarded on afterwards, so it still makes the case when you're not there to talk it through.
